Why are so many Americans overweight?
There are a lot of greasy foods in America now a days, so as a result people eat more fatty substances. More fast food restaurants are being built in America, therefore, there are more greasy foods. If you go to a fast food restaurant most of the food there has probably been dunked in grease. More and more people are going to fast food restaurants because they’re on their way home from work. They just don't like to cook, or they don't have time, a quick fix is to just stop going and getting all that greasy food. Over 50 million people get fast food daily; that's a lot of greasy food. Now I'm not saying not to go get fast food every once in awhile, but if you’re in a hurry and are hungry stop and get a healthy sandwich, or cook some soup that's always good. A lot of us are lazy don't deny it; I admit I'm lazy too. The reason people are so lazy is that they like to sit on the couch and watch TV, sit on the computer, or even play video games. I bet while you’re sitting there your munching on a snack, probably chips. 48.3% of people sit 8 to 10 hours a day and 22.1% sit more then 12 hours a day if you add in sleep people only are on their feet 1 to 4 hours a day. If you’re not running, around during that time, you’re not burning the calories from all the greasy food you just ate. People’s diets are also a reason for obesity. Most people don't watch what they eat. People just eat what they want whenever they're hungry, bored, upset, lonely, and even mad. Some people eat around 4000 to 5000 calories a day. That is 2 times the amount that a grown man should eat a day.
The most important factor in obesity is people don't exercise. There are many reasons people don't exercise. I once heard someone say "the reason I don't exercise is because it hurts". I also hear people say "I'll go for a run tomorrow, I don't want to today", then the next day they say the same thing and so on and so on. You just have to do it. You can't procrastinate, because the longer you procrastinate the bigger you will get, and the harder it will be for you. Another reason people don't exercise is because they don't have time. I understand that people may work two jobs and get home late, but you have to have a day off. On that day, every week, work out. It’s better than nothing at all. People have to take their kids places all the time, there must be some time in the day you’re not running errands, or driving your kids. Get a video and do some cardio exercises before you go to bed. There are ways to work around the reasons you don't exercise, you just have to have the willpower to do it. If you love yourself why would you want to kill yourself? Being overweight and obese can take 10 years off your life.
There are a lot of reasons 72.7% of America are overweight, obese, or extremely obese. There are also many ways to work around the reasons you’re obese. To fix the bad in your life, you have to want to fix it. Do you like being obese, probably not, so try to fix it?

What is Buddhism?
INTRO:
What is Buddhism? Buddhism is the 4th largest religion in the world. Most people know Buddhism as "Buddha" a guy with a big belly. But most people don't know that Buddha was actually very skinny.
FOUNDER:
The founder of Buddhism is Siddhartha Gautama. His nickname is "The Buddha" as most people know him. Buddha was an Indian prince, his father was the king of Sayka. One night Siddhartha left his home to meditate and think about who he was and wanted to become. While meditating he came up with the idea of Buddhism, he used a lot of the Hindu beliefs but changed them a little.
ADHERENTS:
Buddhism has around 360 million followers. Buddhism is all over the world, and anyone can be a Buddhist. The four major locations of Buddhism are China, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia.
HOLY BOOKS:
There are 3 different sacred texts. The main one is Tripitaka, also called Pali Canon. The other 2 are Mahayana Sutras, and Tibetan Book of the Dead. The Tripitaka is the earliest collection of the Buddhist teachings. Tripitaka means "three baskets". Many things have been added over the years, there are 50 volumes and cost $2000 in modern sets. The Mahayana Sutras reflect on Mahayana concepts. Lastly the Tibetan Book of the Dead describes in detail all the stages of death.
RELIGIOUS HOLIDAYS:
There are many holidays/festivals celebrated by the Buddhist around the world every year. A Buddhist festival usually starts by visiting a local temple(Picture on the left). Vesak (Buddha Day) is Buddha's birthday and is the most important festival in Buddhism. This holiday is celebrated on the day of the first full moon in May. Buddhist celebrate the birth, enlightenment, and death of Buddha in just one day. Some other Buddhist holidays are the Buddhist new year, Sangha Day, Dhamma Day, Observance, Kathina Ceremony(Robe Offering Ceremony), Festival of Floating Bowls(Loy Krathong), Elephant Festival, The Festival of the Tooth, and lastly Ancestor Day(Ulambana).
Rituals and Customs:
One of the most known rituals for Buddhism is meditation. The statues of Buddha himself are usually of him in his meditation pose. Meditation is meant to transform the mind and so it can explore itself, and other phenomena. Siddhartha Gautama was said to have achieved enlightenment while meditating under a Bodhi tree. Most Buddha's use meditation to make spiritual progress. Enlightenment is another word for Buddhahood or Nirvana these words all mean a perfect peace. The state of mind that is free from craving, anger and other affective states.(Picture on the right is a picture of Siddhartha Gautama meditating under the Bodhi tree). Another Custom is exchanging gifts with one another.
Particular Clothing:
Some of the ceremonial clothing are Zen(Robe), Prayer Shawls, Meditation Skirts, and Puja Blouses, there is many different types of Zens for example Pashmina Zen, Raw Silk Zen, Silk/Cotton Zentra, Cotton Blend Zen, and Viscose Zentra. There are men and women's meditation skirts.
Hierarchy/Organization:
The monks are the hierarchy. The goal of a monk is to reach the state of Nirvana.

Why do parents and children have problems getting along?
Why do parents and children have problems getting along?
Parent children relationships are very strong. But a parent child relationship changes a lot over a lifespan. As children reach adolescents there is more discomfort. Teenagers push away wanting more freedom and as they start going into high school. Parents get more protective definitely for girls. As a teenage girl my mom doesn't let me do anything without checking on me even if I'm at a friends house and she knows. That's one of the biggest problems I have because it makes me feel like she doesn't trust me. Is that what’s going on with you? If it is just deal with be calm about it and answer your parents questions. I know that sound hard I'm not good at that either I usually get mad then get in trouble. But when I just answer questions calmly I don't have any problems. I found a website that talks about a parent child relationship. It talks about if parents nurture, support and guide their children's development. The parent child relationship evolves as the child get older into adulthood, and the roles may switch as the elderly parents need help the child will support and care for their adult children. This site may be helpful for new parents that want to know what will happen if they spoil or are to strict on there child. Because it has that kind of research on it.
